Something out of our control

To be someone more than the societal standards require

To do something greater than my family dreamed

To say something other than the scripted words of the normal populace

By the desire to be a person my beloved can be proud of

By the dream to be musically involved in the world

By the drive to help others believe that they can do the same

I am bound

Limited by my lower class beginnings from inattentive parents

Limited by society's definitions of right and wrong

Limited by the lack of understanding of humanity as a whole

But yet

I am bound by

The idea of money and wealth defining your future

The idea that females are not worth a few more pennies per hard-worked hour

The idea that I am somehow less of a person because my family is broken

I will only allow myself to be

Bound

By the positivity of life itself and living

By my aspirations for my future and new beginnings
