I Am Thankful for Everything

Thankful is me

For the air that I breathe

The body I have

For every bulge, dent, and curvature that reaps

Within my path

Because one thing is for sure

I would not be here if it was not for

My mom

My brothers

My dad

My father up that art in heaven

I would not be here if it was not for those dreary nights

Walking by myself

Ready to cry

If it were not for those street lights

i would not be here man

If it were not for my  heavy cries

My reevaluations in life

If it were not my friends from college

Telling me that they had  my back

If t weren't for those nights where I had straight panick attacks

I would not be here

So  say I am thankful for all those days that my friends and family did not give up

I appreciate the love they shared with me

Even if it were abrupt

I am gratefu for the nights I stayed up

Couldn't go to sleep

Like I was an insomniac suffering from severe anxiety

I am thankful for every ounce of my eautiful broken heart

Being pieced together slowly with every waking day

I am thankful for the loving words of my mother as she spoke to me

I am grateful for the times I wrote my father

Even if he could not read them

I know he would have known what I mean

I am thankful for my mindset and my intellect

Because I know that is one thing that could never be taken away from me

I am thankful for the stretch marks

The fat rolls in my stomach that I have learned to embrace

I am thankful for my face that everyone looks down at because they think it is misplaced

But most of all I am thankful for every moment that I have lived through

Because they are records of me saying I will not give up on me
