I am not a student, I am a Machine

A student learns

The moment I hand in that paper, it is a big thing

A big fuck you to the teacher that can’t teach

A big help to my grade that needs boosting

A big thank you to the friend that gave it to me

But the moment I turn in that paper

I am no longer a student; I am a Machine

A student yearns to learn

A student is willing to spend the time

The effort

The commitment to something she has no knowledge of

A student yearns for knowledge

Yet we live in a world where we don’t seek knowledge; we find them

We look for sources to make us seem better

To be better

To be higher in our class

Better in our grade

We look for ways to

Cheat

The

System

The moment a student finds an answer, she is not a student any longer

But a machine

One that looks for the right answer

That chooses not to take the time to make a mistake

She looks for the right answer that helps her

But doesn’t really

A student chooses to learn

A machine chooses the answer
