I am Not That Blonde

'I am not that blonde'

Stereotypical blondes will be the death of me

With such high standards that I'll never reach

For those that do I give you a big whoopee

Please stand up and give your speech

Oh wait that's right

Your prize was won by looks not intelligence

Don't tell me you have stage fright

I don't have time for your irrelevance

You see I'll never be that blonde

The one that is the butt of all the jokes

Calling your acts of stupidity blonde moments

But it's all just one big hoax

Hiding behind it with no desire of improvement

And I'll never be that blonde

Long legs and tan skin

Perfect body with the right clothes

Hair put up with a bunch of bobby pins

Topping it off with a rose

I won't be that blonde

The blonde I will be is me

Short and a little pudgy

Eyes the color of the sea

And cheeks just a little bit rosy

Determined to be the best

Not giving up when things get hard

Passing every test

Bringing home a great report card

I am the blonde who knows the difference between a TV. and a microwave

Finds blonde jokes hilarious

You could record my brainwaves

Somewhat spontaneous

Can't find me sitting and looking pretty

I'll be out playing sports and getting dirty

You could call me gritty

Know I'll be successful before I'm thirty

That's the blonde I'll be

Your assumptions of my character based on my looks will get you nowhere

Societies words won't define me

I'm what you would call rare

I'm going to be the blonde with a degree

When the expectations of the stereotypical blonde reaches for my neck

It will have to take a rain check

Because I'm not that blonde
