I am no master of prose
I have not th' knowledge
Of a learnéd poet.
I know not Greek or Latin
To th' point of mastery.
I may have studied briefly
Beautiful masterpieces of
Shakespeare, Browning, and
Maybe Lord Byron.
Though copy their technique
Is all I may attempt.
I cannot ryhme like that of
Wordsworth or Blake.
My poor attempts cannot
Ev'n be compared with
Those masterful works of art
No matter my dreams.
One can see plainly now
In face of these facts
Tis' true unfortunately
I am no master of prose.
