I Am More Than Harsh Words Spoken From Bitter Hearts

You know what the Bible says

The harsh words are whispered into my ears,

It isn’t natural.

I close my eyes and breathe.

They’ll never accept you.

The words are back.

You’ll be kicked out.

These thoughts sit in my head,

You’ll be disowned.

They run through my mind

They won’t love you anymore.

More times than I can count.

Faggot.

Slurs are shouted at me,

Dyke.

As I’m simply trying to exist.

Tranny.

I’ve caused no harm,

Queer.

Yet people deem it appropriate to

Homo

Condemn me for the sins I never

Retard.

Committed.

The harsh tongues that throw daggers at me

You aren’t normal.

As they speak, belong to those whose

You’re fucked up.

hearts are filled with anger.

I don’t want you near my kids.

But I will not let them harm me,

I will not let them diminish me.

I am more than their bitter spoken words.

I am more than the poison they throw

In hopes to tear me down.

And I will not let them

Diminish my brothers, sisters, and siblings.
