I am monochromatic

My world is not technicolor

My world is dull and one dimensional

I look for the brightness

But the closest thing I get to brightness is tints of white

I am monochromatic

I don’t feel emotion

I don’t feel the tides of exuberance or sorrow

I am simply detached

I am monochromatic

The thrills of life don’t woo me

The hills of rollercoasters don’t make me scream with joy

The void inside of my colorless existence is silent and wretched

I’m told to look at the bright side

I’m told to not be so miserable

I’m told to put color into my world

How can I put color into my world

When everything I touch turns to black?

How can I put color into my world

When everything and everyone around me is desolate?

How can I put color into my world

When my world is dark and dreary?

Colors are the result of reflected lights

The light is diminishing

The light is vanishing

There is no color in an unlit world

I am monochromatic
