I AM ME

I am intellect combined with stupidity,

Kindness and compassion fractured by pain and misery,

Wrapped in anger and jealousy…

Mine heart is shattered by thousands of failings,

Weakened further by doubt and self-loathing,

And held together by sheer will power…

I am passion and skill muddled by the confusion and stress,

Of thousands of responsibilities I force upon myself…

I am a series of doubts each larger than the last,

Held up by only my ego…

I am a stone-faced façade that hides my true self,

Holding back the tidal wave of emotions,

Always trying to get out…

I am a heart of stone desperately trying to soften enough to love…

I am a romantic in an unromantic world,

Awkward and unskilled at today’s definition of love.

I am all of this and more,

Connected loosely by strings of lies holding together my weakly connected persona…

A single truth might cut through the lies,

Collapsing my psyche,

Leaving me naught by a shell on the sidewalk…

I am flawed…

And I am far from perfect…

But I am me…

And I was made for a purpose...

It’s up to me to find that purpose…

I AM ME!!!
