I am Me

You don't really care,

You don't really see,

Because the person you want,

Is just not me.

You want charming, beautiful, loving, and free,

But I'm just little ol' awkward me.

I am seen by a world stuck on repeat,

Like a broken record it speaks,

...she is a nerd.

She is a flea,

A little thing without any needs.

...she is a nerd.

She is a flea,

A little thing without any needs.

...she is a nerd.

She is a flea,

A little thing without any needs.

It never ends,

It has not ceased,

These insults these downplays fired at me.

But I am stronger, bigger, better than you see.

For I have God and He holds me.

I am important to Him.

He made me.

And because of that I realized that I don't need to be

some cookie-cutter perfection that you concocted in your dreams.

I know who I was, am, and will be.

I am me can't you see.

In this country, I am free to choose whoever I want to be.

But I was me, I am me, I will continue to be me.

Because I like me better than the robot glued together in your dreams.
