I am a Lonely Ship

I am a lonely ship
sailing out to sea
many have tried their best and failed
coming to follow me

But I'm low on provisions
and salty are my lungs
I'm cold and wet already
and setting is the sun

The waves are high tonight
come splashing on my deck
as the wind gets wilder
I will surely wreck

One last final measure
I light my only flare
I watch as it skyrockets
high up into the air

I recall the triangles
lurking in the distance
not so near, not so far
willing to lend assistance

They toss their ropes for me to hold
and pull me from my boat
they patch up all the leaking holes
to help me stay afloat

For I am not a lonely hsip
sailing out to sea
I have many friendly ships
that sail alongside me.
