I AM

Thu, 08/13/2015 - 16:48 -- Lexus3h

Hot and sandy, “not pop but soda.”

Swimming and sweating, I am from Arizona.

At the age of three being me.

I laughed and cared,

but pulled Santa's beard.

For I did not believe and ran,

For I knew underneath that suit was a man.

Moving everywhere from school to school,

still feeling the heat and going pool to pool.

Moving from the sand to the snow,

From the heat to the cold I did not know.

Here in the cold of Minnesota,

I am still from Arizona.

I am still from Panda Express,

but vegetables a lot less.

I am still from video games and animes,

but not from people walking slow in the hallways.

I am from Shakopee to Woodbury,

now in Hastings with my two dogs Jade and Cherry.

Now, I am from my senior year,

where there are many choices I cannot bear.

I am from my big family,

all 8 kids, for I am not the only.

I am from cooking every day,

from sausages and pancakes.

From my sisters Paris and Pooh

to my forty pairs of shoes.

From step-grandma's and holidays

to movies on Tuesdays.

I am from my family and Arizona

I am from my faith in Jesus and God

        “I am from me.”
