I Am

I watch them.

A stroll to ease a relentless mind.

A smile faked, a laugh forced.

I watch them.

A bitter taste forever consuming the air.

A thought emplanted, a word repeated.

I watch them.

Squirmming under hot breath.

A future disintegrating, a plan devised.

I watch them.

I take them.

Fingers grasped upon withering last hopes.

A hand reached, a prayer whispered.

I take them.

A heart breaks one last time for memories unmade.

A desperate scream, an ecompassing silence.

I take them.

A leap of faith transformed to free fall.

A sharp snap, a hanging rope.

I watch them.

I take them.

I am.

Whispered thoughts spoken into vulnerable souls.

A mind darkens, a happiness dulls.

I am.

The hidden poison that one can not escape.

An overwhelming blackness, An engulfing sadness

I am.

The unspoken taker of the innocent children.

An inescapable depression, the only solution.

I take them.

I watch them.

I am.

Way to go!!! I like how you describe what God does and who God is in this poem in such a unique way. It really does motivate me as a Christian and a poet to make more poem about Him and His word. Great poem. God bless and keep writing on my friend(:!!!

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! That is a very interesting perspective of my poem, and I rather enjoy haring different interpretations of my work! It shows great things to your personality to take what was seemingly a dark poem to myself in such a positive nature. Thank you for taking the time to read my poem and commenting!

Much Love,

Owlsfly
