I am hopeful

I am creative

I am American

But I am also African

I am the lesser one

Or I am the equal one

I am hardworking

But I am also lazy

I am the forgotten one

Or am I the hunted one

I am spiritual

Or am I material

I am loved

Or am I hated

I am confident

But I am also shy

I am free

Or am I a slave

I am born in my country

Or am I bred for my country

I am patriotic

I am a part of my country

 Or am I foreign to my country

I am many things and I question who I am at time

But one thing that I know is that I am who I am
