I am

I am the child that when I younger I wished I was older
I Wanted to live my life and be sober
As I grew up I learned
Time is patience and age is earned
When I was 12 I was hit by a car
Honestly didn't think I'd make it far
I was in a wheelchair for a little over a year
Lived my life in fear
I was bullied for the scars I had
Hardly ever felt glad
But as the months became long
I grew and became strong
I met a girl who changed my life
She stood up for me and cut the bad strings with a knife
Once I was able to walk
We whould laugh and talk
She was the kind of girl that never used the lords name in vain
She was the last piece that completed my chain
Sadly one day that all changed
I felt estranged
Never was there a lack of love from her
But it was the information I was able to gather
Shortly after that she was diagnosed with cancer
She never stopped fighting she remained her
Many days she coudnt move
She wasn't feeling the grove
She fought for over a year and a half
But she hardly ever laughed
Through all that she went through she was always brave
I never thought I'd have to visit her grave
She was the light in my darkest dreams
The comforting voice after my violent screams
The soft loving hand that guided me
No one understood no one could see
I was lost without her and I still am
She was a work of art like the Hoover dam
She was my greatest inspiration to keep on going
Even without knowing
So when you as who am I?
I am the girl who is still alive
I'm the girl who will always strive
I am more then I ever thought I'd be
I am blessed more then anyone can see
I am me
