I’ve Fallen
I’ve fallen
Into a cage too beautiful to leave
The very object that withholds from who till recently was free
Is the reason I wish to succeed
I’ve fallen
Into a remarkably unchallenging reality
Lacking essential attributes for wonder
I’ve fallen
And drowned under the selfish waves of music
Mocking me with a beautiful song
But it is not mine
The sirens and the keyholders leak compliments
Hypnotizing anyone who dares challenge another with potential
But why do they think I will sing along?
When I’ve fallen, I stand up right,
Onto a hardwood floor,
Into velvety drapes,
In the center of attention…
In front of many like me.
But they’ve fallen
Into seats.
Basking in the lights that grasp to their hinges,
In the costumes with all of their fringes,
I realize that I have fallen
In love
