How It Should Be

Because I love you and we both deserve the best

Your heart has been torn up and deserves a rest

Holding your hand, a kiss upon the cheek

Just seeing your smile makes me weak

The lingering scent of your smell mixed with mine

The way it feels with our hands intertwined

Sparks that ignite the butterflies within

I could not ask for a better friend

Chivalry is dead, or so they say

But through thick and thin, you’re here to stay

I’d move mountains for you, I know you’ll do the same

Mutual trust should never be a game

Goodbye, have fun, with your friends you go

I trust that you love me, this I always know
