The girl that used to doubt herself Say that she would be nothing in life. Constantly doubting what she says and does but always made sure others were happy and would hate to let others see her emotional breakdown stands before you today Now knowing who and what she represents she holds her head high with high esteem she knows her roots the ladies before her time knew exactly what they had to do to pave the way for her. They took criticism they took the beatings they took the pain from the whips that crick crack across their children's back.  If they suffered just for my greater good than I refuse to let anybody stand in the way of my future. If it wasn't for God and my ancestors I wouldn't be where I am today.  Today I can be me I can be free. I can get the education I deserve. And most importantly I can smile I can smile at those that might hate on my success. I can smile at those that constantly try to bring me down. I can smile because I’m not worried anymore I’m not worried about what people say or do anymore. I’m tired of the fussing the fighting the ignorance because we’ve been through too much too let it all end end end of relationships marriages friendships that shouldn’t even be happening I thought that Louis Armstrong said that this was a wonderful world. This world this world this so called wonderful world where we still have to deal with the hate the discrimination and inequality. Inequality underestimated minority I’m not talking about just blacks I’m talking women, girls, young ladies where we often find ourselves putting other women down in order to boost our self-esteem or finding guys that love us. Love an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment but it’s just another four letter word being tossed around day after day hour after hour minute by minute. It doesn’t seem to have any meaning anymore because I’ve heard it so much. women young ladies girls we are supposed to love ourselves before we love others but if we don’t love ourselves than that love becomes just another four letter word. Just know that you will always be loved even if you’re not ready to love others so turn that frown upside down and smile because the girl that used to doubt herself.
