The house that felt like home

Our house was described as ugly and run-down
But in our hearts, it was held as high as a king's crown
Memories lay when we would laugh and at times frown
I remember our house pointed to the beautiful break of day
Then we'd scurry off to run and play
For this home in it would lay
An enchanted wonderland made of dirt and clay
Then one gloomy day
A detailed letter came to our dismay
"I hereby ask for a divorce , no longer delay!
you may no longer live and stay,
in my house in which you and your family play"
Ever since then, we pass and say
"That was a house that felt more like a home, each and everyday"
