Hopeless

Psalm 108:12-13

12 Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
13 Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.

When your life falls apart ... and hope within is gone

there is no man who can help ... you’ll be all alone.

Reasoning left long ago ... you have nowhere to go.

All you’ve learned cannot help ... that is all you know.

The darkness that fell long ago embraces you in full.

No ray of light can penetrate as you drown in a swirling pool.

You know for sure this is the end ... no will left to fight on.

You wished your memories would fade ... as love for self is gone.

It is blasphemy cries your soul ... it can’t end this way.

Your flesh screams go to hell ... but your heart gets ready to pray.

A light shines through the darkness ... no this can’t be true.

A ray of light I like so much ... through the black that seems my doom

Can it be that deep in me ... Life calls me to stay?

But I thought I knew myself ... existing day to day.

May be all I know right now is nothing at all.

Nothing left to be known except consequence from the Fall.

Depravity the culprit ... that always hides itself

as long as it is not noticed ... I think well of myself.

But when the day of reckoning comes and all things fall in place.

My righteousness is like filthy rags ... unless in Christ I stay.
