Hope

Desperation is the face of every student

Seeking for happiness and a way to survive.

Our brains beating faster telling us we are ready to leave

In hope that the bell will soon ring!

As the day comes to an end,

You finally come to rest in the comfort of your bed

Staring up at the ceiling wondering… “What makes me different?”

GOD

When you’re broken beyond repair,

believing you’re ugly and worthless,

Or believe you are not worth his time

He seems to creep right back in your corner with patience and care.

For some, this isn’t enough,

Not sure if he is really there or your self doubt drowning him out

But to me he is always there.

He gives me patience and hope,

Self awareness and selflessness.

He makes me want to be my better self.

That everything is worth it,

Even when we fall.

The new normal is to be insecure of religion,

To cripple down in despair

But why not rise like the beautiful sun in the winter air.

Hold on tight, and don’t let go

Because although it may be a bumpy ride,

At least you are never alone!
