Honor to the Women That Taught Me

You taught me how to be a "man"

My bad.  You taught me how to be responsible

You taught me to stare at the obstacles

And overcome the impossible

You taught me that sometimes

I must blaze my own trail

And sometimes following others

Is the surest way to fail

Your connection with the Holy

The Ultimate Reality

You revealed the need

By winning in your life as you continue to lead

Your Grace

Your Dignity

Your Courage

In the face of adversity

It does not matter

That you wore a dress

I learned from you

The traits that were best
