It makes me wonder why the governnment shut down is grave

when the government shuts us down everyday.

Because I see children with mismatched shoes and dirty faces

with mothers who have been to even worse places.

And it's nice to know that a town in the thrid world was liberated

But what about the millions of people here who have had their homes obliterated.

It's nice to know that you oppose drug cartels,

but that says nothing when the materials

of crack and canabis are being distributed by the ton instead of the gram

to the ones who make up the unfortunate and less than.

What happened to the righteousness and justice?

Because all I see is a nation belonging to prejudice.

Yes we fight for same-sex marriage

But we forget that it was once illegal for whites and blacks to even ride in the same carriage.

Because our government relies on re-election

instead of obtaining perfection.

And they give out healthcare and welfare

but they get it all back in the form of taxes and interest,

so they have no reason to call this a deficit.

Because it's not the senators or the representatives that owe millions,

it's the millions of this country that owe.

Because you're quick to blame the social security and food stamps

making sure not to mention the drones and oil plants

that you spend trillions on because we are a country of prosperity.

But that means nothing when your history is the definition of barbarity.

And those that want to change, take a look at the Kennedy's and the King's,

and slowly back away

because progress is meant to be slow.

Why else would it take so long for the Maters to let go.

And it's cool that your rich,

but lets not forget that this is a representative democracy,

not an elitist autocracy.

So put your shoes in the place of a

student in debt

a family living check by check

and explain to me why

Homeland Security has more to do with land

and less to do with Home.
