HOLLYWOOD BOUND

HOLLYWOOD
BY MIRA WILDER
2014

I met a man bound for Hollywood
all dressed up for stardom
left a wife
and the kids he loved
to tend to their own garden...
He' got a burning desire
in his heart
a need for fame
encore...  applause...

Time tick tock's
and everyday
he gets a little older...

acting class
new head shots
Photoshop that
little blotch
mirror mirror on the wall
He'd sell his soul
to have it all...

cattle call
the room is full
"is that what's her name?
OMG she looks so pulled"
everybody
sounds the same
looks alike,
plays the game

check the trades
check the times
endless competition
every moment
time tick tock's
the need for recognition

check the trades
check the times
wrinkle cream dabbed round your eyes
Mirror mirror on the wall
mini series
commercial call
movie part's
Reality
soap operas
MTV
take your chances, have it all
an ego trip is what it's called
time tick tock's
everyday
you get a little closer...

A Sag award
Golden Globe
Emmy, Oscar
people choice
grab the trades grab the times
endless competition
time tick tock's
the fame parade
and the need for recognition...
