Hollywood

Let's play house, you can be mommy and I'll be your baby.

We can live in make believe like grand old Gatsby.

Go to every party and dress up like Barbie.

Put a flower in your hair and don't think anymore.

Who needs to think at all? That life is a bore.

We lost ourselves inside of a movie.

Read your line, say "This is the real me."

They talk, I walk, they call, I run.

They speak, I hush, they call, I come.

Everyone's living in their own mind.

Everyone's so happy, we're so young and beautiful.

But we live in Hollywood and nobody's truthful.

Wear a smile because we're pretty and youthful.

We lost ourselves inside of a movie.

Read your line, say "This is the real me."

They talk, I walk, they call, I run.

They speak, I hush, they call, I come.

Everyone's living in their own mind.

Put on your make up, dress to the nine.

Red velvet, blue cashmere, silk and wine.

Live by the night, we wine but don't dine.

They said "May I take your coat and your mind?"

I'm your play thing, put in the key and wind.

Life is beautiful, life is sweet.

God wrote the lyrics, but they make the beat.
