Hold
He holds onto me
Even when I loosen my hold on Him
He holds onto me
Even when I feel I'm letting go
My hand's sweaty with fear
Worn with temptations
Disjointed with pride
Slippery with sin
Raw with anger
Bleeding with suffering
Heavy with burdens
Weak with tragedy's "why?"
Yet Father, Your Grasp on my faltering hand
Tightens stronger, warmer still
Drawing me in
To Your unfailing heart
Your cherishing eyes
Your assuring Daddy-embrace
Your tender whisper,
"Child you don't hold Me
I hold YOU
Forever."
