History Repeating

I want to remember what it’s like

to ride a bike

or watch Saturday cartoons

To remember when homework was

just 2+2

But that was a long time ago

Any biking is just to and from school

And now the cartoons are no good

I want to remember how easy

Life used to be before Trigonometry.

But those things just live in my memory

So, I have to create new memories

And then miss them eventually.

Today consists of stressful mornings

Tiring nights

Anxiety-filled days

School has taken over my life

But with motivation and goals

I set myself a future

where I see me

Doing the impossible

Not where building a candy machine out of Lego bricks brings me pleasance

But teaching to make the world a difference.
