I am pale as the moon in a sky of darkness
White against the shadows of the night
His skin is dark like a moonless sky
But his spirit is forever bright

He hopes for freedom and safety
From the demons within someone’s heart
A right that should be automatically given
A right that should be his from the start

Discrimination and judgment
Can tear our nation to shreds
But we can as a country
Create harmony by using our heads

We can put an end to the racial slurs
And conquer the devils within
We can protect ALL of our Civil Rights
We can accept and love EVERYONE, despite their skin
