Him Vs. You

Blisters and bruises
Tears and broken bottles
Those are the remnants he left behind
Paranoia and blistered tongues from questions
Sitting idly by with fear and confusion
Two years of bloody knuckles and concussions

But you

Kisses and mending
Strong grip filled with love
Sitting next to you with admiration sparkling in your eyes
Never wondering if this was the second your anger would outweigh your affection

Two years I gave him
Signed over my soul in regret and pain

But you
If you asked I'd close my eyes and and jump
I wonder how I deserve it.
