In High School I Was Perfect

It's Autumn,

So bright and beautiful--

Adventure around every corner.

College begins.

In High School I was perfect.

In High School I made no mistake.

In High School I was me.

Now, mistake after mistake.

Call Mom!

Cry.

In College I make mistakes.

In College the world is cruel.

In College I grew.

Perspective.

Peace.

A friend appears,

Lifts me up,

Brings me into his arms.

Now, support and soothing words.

Strength.

Cry.

It's Autumn again,

I have grown into a bright young woman.

I'm prepared now.

In High School I was perfect.

In College I found who I really am.

I am strong.

Call Mom.

I'm still your little girl,

But now,

I'm renewed.

I'm now learning to be perfectly, me.
