The High of Mankind

The feeling of withdrawal kicks
in and I'm desperate for a good high.
The best selection is the company of
my dad because it hits quick.

I inhale the colloquy but it's not enough
so I pay for a swift gossip with my sister
and it's a good puff.

I lay down and absorb the bliss,
but the lack of this medication cause
me to become unhinged. I'm
addicted and in my roughest days

it's a drug that I miss.
