He's No John Lennon (Inspired by the musical RENT)

He religion was sex drugs and rock and roll.

His prayer was "stay high till life takes its toll."

His best friend was cocaine, reality was the rain.

He's stuck in a castle, made up of fantasy.

The world's spinning, but he's in his tower of ivory.

He's no John Lennon, he's no Bruce Springsteen.

He thinks that he's James Dean on the silver screen.

He's caught in his perfect illusion, delusion,

never grew past seventeen.

He was a candle that burned for a night.

He is a sparrow that always takes flight.

He's waiting on that hit single to happen.

He still quotes the words to "Imagine."

He's no John Lennon, he's no Bruce Springsteen.

He thinks that he's James Dean on the silver screen.

He's caught in his perfect illusion, delusion,

never grew past seventeen.

His gods are the Stones, he worships at their pillar.

His life was a dream and real life was the killer.

Ashes to ashes, dust into dust

He withered away, his guitar turned into rust.

He's no John Lennon, he's no Bruce Springsteen.

He thinks that he's James Dean on the silver screen.

He's caught in his perfect illusion, delusion,

never grew past seventeen.
