Heavy

Move along,

There's nothing left to see.

Just a couple more,

to take the edge off of what is haunting me.

You look at me,

Like you can save me,

But what you dont see

Is that it's too heavy

For Superman to carry.

An emotional flood

and everyone is drowning in the sea.

If I turn away,

No one will know the tears came from me.

Don't breathe a word,

Our lungs are fighting for the air.

I thought I saw an ounce

of promise in you for a moment there.

Those strangled words,

just couldn't escape untruthful lips.

And as much as I scrubbed,

I couldn't get the blood off of these stained fingertips.

The sky has no color,

It merely steals the hues from our souls.

And while I sit here breaking down,

I'm glad that you finally found some control.
