Heart beats

 

                You wake

                You fake

                You break

                What you can’t take

 

You eat

You smile

You sleep

For awhile

                You speak

                You mend

                Where you are weak

 

You laugh

You cough

You tough

Through the rough

 

You toil

You boil

You foil

Someone’s soil

 

You light

You spite

And as I lower

On the floor

And roar

All my horror

You blink

Is sweet

Your house

My tears

Aren’t real
