Heart Beat

Heart Beat
I want to sleep but I can’t sleep because I’m thinking of you
I write things to see if they’ll help things, but they never do
My pens outline my emotions and the papers soak up the ink of my conflictions and I send them to you
Hoping it would bring you closer to me
I wish you were closer to me because then you could feel my heart beat
And then you could hear my love sing
And then I would have no trouble sleeping because you’d be next to me
Don’t let my words sway your heart love
But allow them to let your heart know what I’m feeling
And if my words are hurting you know that the way I feel for you has no intention of doing so
Just wanted to let you know that I can’t hear your heart beat, and you can’t hear mine….but I can feel your love from a mile away and right now
And every day, my love is trying to tap on your window to let you know that no matter what,
I’ll always be there and that I’ll never stop waiting to hear your heart beat
