He is he, she is she, and I am me

Sat, 01/17/2015 - 20:10 -- Almerz

He is he, she is she, and I am me.

With filters we all look the same

but who are we to take the blame.

we grow up desiring to be everyone else

 But underneath we're just ourselves.

As for me I have dark skin

with dark brown eyes to look within.

Many assume all Latinos are Mexican

And I look at them and correct them again.

So many countries define who we are,

our looks, our features are seen from afar.

When you see me I either have 4 eyes or two,

Depending on the day and how I make do.

Without any cover of makeup to see

I am simply me,

as she is she and he is he.
