I close my eyes
And let the sounds fill me
Drift off to a world that only I see
I can do anything
Or love anyone
All my struggles are lost in the song.

My fingers move with a mind of their own
Striking each key with a resounding tone
Louder and softer
Fast and then slow
Keep hidden the secrets that only I know.

It is a shelter, a hideout, a haven
A place that I run to when all else has been taken
A simple world
Black and white
Free from all pain as I play through the night.

The only thing that I truly love
As gentle yet wild and free as a dove
I've been given a power
I know I won't lose it
For nothing can conquer the power of music.
