Hard as Diamonds

My scales are as hard as diamonds.

They escape damage.

Threats cannot penetrate my armor.

Protection is their objective.

I warn of my anger.

A single flick of my tongue.

It's quicker than comprehension.

No margin of error.

My bite is deadly.

Venom with every thrash.

Pulsing with my pain.

My heart is cold from damage.

Many layers protect it from threat.

It's cold, but it exists.

Thee is a heart within the darkness.
