Happy Mothers Day

I crave your love

But I hate when you look at me.

I hate the resentment I see in your eyes,

and I hate the pity that lies underneath it.

You didn't want me,

I was just a bump in the road of your life,

but I didn't know that,

I loved you,

at first.

You ignored my needs,

favoring your own,

and his,

Always his.

I tried to make you proud,

studying,

cleaning,

never enough.

You told me once I was useless,

I was young,

I was powerless to my emotions,

hours of crying.

Now that I'm older,

and away from you,

there is no hate,

only a desperate longing,

laying beneath a layer of foax hatred.

This poem is about:
My family
