The pain I felt everyday was a knife to my heart

The days went by in darkness and no hope

So close to just calling it quits and letting the sea take me away

But then the day came which threw me a surprise

Forgiveness overcame me and the man who destoryed me was no longer a part of me

The man who destoryed my trust in all men

The man who gave me a false picture to believe in

The man who turned and lit up the picture with me inside

Everything around me up in flames with no chance of surivial

The nights crying myself to sleep blaming myself for everything

The blood from my wrist reminding me of the pain inside my heart

Just wanting to sleep and never wake up to see another day of darkness

The hardest thing I ever had to do in my life was forgive you for your crimes

Forgive for three years worth of lies spoken while he looked at my eyes

"I will take care of you"

"You don't have to worry about a thing"

And the worst one of all

"I love you"

You threw it in my face like it was nothing

And I believed you like a fool who is in love for the very first time

It took all my teenage years but I finally was able to move on

The last step was to forgive

I found your number on a piece of paper I shed up and called

When you picked up I said

"I forgive you for all the wrongs you have done to me and while it took a long time to get to this step I surivived through the sleepless nights and the nightmares when I closed my eyes. I just want to thank you for the lessons learned and I hope you have a great life."

The moment I hang up the phone all the hate in my heart disapear like it was never there

The thoughts of hurting you turned to hope of tomorrow

This is the story of a 13 year old boy who believed a step-dad lies and after a long time found the strenght to forgive and move on.

The pain is still there but I'm not letting you hold me back anymore.
