Happiness

A mother and daughter

Escaping a life of abuse

From the hands of

A husband and father.

Happiness is a road hard won.

It’s a battle;

A fight that’s begun

Since our first breath.

We fight until death.

Happiness is a glass

With wine so sweet.

Often a small bump

Will cause its defeat.

Peace is a snow globe

Sitting on a swing.

Just one small blow;

Its death it will bring.
