Hannah Baker – The Girl Who’s Story Goes Untold

I'm a bookworm so I've read varies genres of books. I remember reading the novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and the way I felt afterwards was shocked and determined. Shocked at the fact of reading the story of a girl who went through some things that led her to commit suicide. Then I felt determined to share the awareness through this poem I wrote. Be careful with what you say. People may not remember what you said...but they'll remember the way you made them feel. - Ashley Beteta

Hannah Baker – The Girl Who’s Story Goes Untold

All the girls at her school gather around

They point and laugh

Making up stories as she goes

They don’t know anything

Not her past or her present

But they are shaping her future

And so her story goes untold

She doesn’t dress all fancy

Or wear the newest clothes

Her parents work at a shoe shop

Scraping money as they go

Her friends turned their backs

Leaving her to fend on her own

Young boys took advantage

Making her self-esteem go low

She found no purpose

And so she stood to leave

She popped dozens of pills in her mouth

Now resting in peace
