Hands

Your hands are strong.

Enough to keep me and my horrors at bay until dawn.

They bear the weight of the world and all it throws at you.

Big enough to carry my soul through the trauma of the fall.

The last of them I saw was the wave saying,

“Goodbye, child of mine.”
