In the hand of a child

Amos 4:1-2

God’s Punishments Have Not Reformed ...

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria,
Who oppress the poor, Who crush the needy,
Who say to your husbands, “Bring wine, let us drink!”
2 The Lord God has sworn by His holiness:
“Behold, the days shall come upon you
When He will take you away with fishhooks,
And your posterity with fishhooks.

Fat and sassy

More than once confusion comes and that every few minutes

Organized and edited it appears like common sense

We dress it up with a suit and tie with really not much in it

Then we pick a name and make a hero of this gent

We display him with pride and everywhere we go

We introduce him with compassion as the deeper self

We elevate him high and everyone should know

That this person is a gift from comfort’s well

Puffed up and bloated like a fat cow of Bashan

We can’t even notice the harm we are inflicting

Piling on our Savior our emptiness from now and then

fluttering in nothingness with self-chosen affliction

In the hand of a child, a balloon is like a wonder

In the eyes of the beholder just puffs of hot air

A stumbling block to the first when it floats up yonder

And to the 2nd an attempt to get another round somewhere
