Hamster Wheel
This busy world
Frenetic ants
Scurry to and fro;
Their loads of burden
Weigh them down
Their faces play a show.
Below the pond
Their duck-like legs
Paddle like dogs in water;
The currents strong
The rapids fierce
They’re fearful, oh to falter.
But truth be told
The waters still
Could soothe a troubled mind;
If vice-like grip
Could free its hold
A sense of peace untwined.
