Growth in Pain

Wed, 10/25/2017 - 09:59 -- TheRam

Her beautiful white hair,

Glistening gently from the suns rays.

Her childish and warming smile,

Always making my day.

She suffered many problems

As I watched it happen.

I ignored it believing she would get better,

So i left her trapped in.

Day by day, she got worse.

Her breath slowly getting more coarse.

Eventually we decided it was enough.

Everything we tried to do, it was tough.

Watching her go away,

Hurt my heart in many ways.

"I want you to stay longer",

But you staying wouldn't make you stronger.

I had to learn how to deal

with the immense pain that was oh so real.

Day by day passed again,

I slowly started to leave my den.

Her being gone taught me so much more.

How to deal with love and hate,

Learning what to do on my own,

My empty slate now a full plate.

I want to see you one more time though.

To see that beautiful smile

If only there was something I could do,

All because I love you.
