Growing up I guess

Alfred Jackson

Growing up

I’m growing up now,

Same head size,

Longer body,

Increased need for help.

It was a time I once basked in the glory of an individual award,

Forgetting whose blood was mingled with mines on the battlefield,

Forgetting the importance of not only the plan, but the execution,

Forgetting to share any reward that comes into my possession,

I no long get any individual awards

Maybe it's karma catching up,

Maybe my physical strength is to dwindle,

Maybe it’s one of the things that comes with a being a teamplayer,
