Growing Up

I’m no longer a cub

No longer a kid

I don’t take baths in the tub

I am an adult amid

All this confusion

All this illusion

That I can fend for myself

That I can learn for myself

What it is to be free

What it is to be

Responsible for every action

Every chain reaction

That happens for no reason

But every season

I grow stronger

I yearn longer

To become that tigress

I was meant to be

But I digress

Am I ready to see

What this future holds

As this story unfolds

Before my eyes

And I fly high

Higher than you can see

You better believe

No one will look down

On me, look around

I have become the tigress

I was meant to be

I am a success

This is who I am supposed to be
