Greet the Day

Saying farewell to the night and hello to the day

I wake with a groan without a moments delay

I get up too early before the sun can even rise

To go through the torture of a seven long hour ride

If it was my choice I'd learn about my passions not the traditions

We barely learn useful tips except for common curtesy and quirky quips

But a successful future is a goal of mine

So let's arise with the day and hope for the best

As a junior in high school time is a race

A get out of jail free card with a worn out lace

So alas I arise to say hello to today

For time waits for no one no matter how much you want it to stay
