Greet the Day

Morning sun so early shines,

Brightly through my window blinds;

My groggy mind is slow to wake,

Sleep can be so hard to shake.

With strength of will I open,

My eyes to get the day going;

The reason and my strength are clear,

This is my day, my month, my year.

My motivation for every morn,

Since the very day that I was born;

Is to make the most of my time here,

And live a life of love with no fear.

I live to make a better world,

It's not easy to, from warm blankets, unfurl;

I do it still because I know I must,

In order to clear from the world its rust.

Today and everyday I stand,

From light to dark fulfill my plan;

To sieze the day and live my life,

And cure the world of pain and strife.
