The Green Door

Location

When I see

The light of your smile,

I open my heart

And stay awhile.

But memory is sharp

And I can’t escape.

The green door controls

The choices I make.

I’m sorry my love,

My fear is so strong.

The stars have surpassed

The future they seek.

The red-hearted rose

Is pale, white, and weak.

The two doors remain

Before and behind.

Are they one and the same?

I cannot decide.

I’m sorry my love,

The pain lingers on.

My faith has gone dark.

The sun ‘s nearly set.

My one desire

Has never been met.

But deep in your eyes

The love that I see

Is pure, unashamed

Meant only for me.

I love you my love,

You’re heaven above.
